About the Seminar Instructor
Dr. Juliusz Poltz obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical
engineering from the Technical University of Poznan, Poland, a second M.Sc.
in Mathematics from the Adam Mickiewicz University, and a Ph.D. with
Habilitation in Engineering for achievements in electromagnetic field theory.
Dr. Poltz was a professor at the Technical University of Poznan and at the
University of Manitoba (Canada). He has worked for Siemens AG (West Germany),
Radiospectroscopic Apparatus Factories (Poland), the Industrial Applications
of Microelectronics Centre Inc. (Winnipeg), and Quantic Laboratories (Winnipeg).
Dr. Poltz has published over 70 technical papers and three books. He
specializes in applications of functional analysis and numerical methods in
electromagnetic field analysis and synthesis. In 1992 Dr. Poltz co-founded
OptEM Engineering, a company specializing in CAE software and consulting
services for interconnect design and analysis in high-performance digital and
analog systems. He is currently the president of OptEM.
